Will a Shimano DA 7900 front der, braze on version, convert to clamp on style?
I've never had to do this before but now need to know, thanks.

Just need a regular clamp or special version???

You just need a clamp adaptor, in the appropriate size.

Mine was sold by SHIMANO even a 34.9

As Pete said Shimano makes a clamp. In all diameters. However if you're very picky it's not really pretty. I prefer the FSA or the SRAM clamp. Or if budget is no issue there is the Parlee carbon FD clamp @ $95

This is what you need...depending on seat tube diameter (http://www.excelsports.com/main.asp?page=8&description=Front+Derailleur+Clamp+Adapter&vendorCode=SHIM&major=1&minor=33)

Thanks all,
that's exactly what I need.
Updating the Ottrott ST from DA 9 speed to 7900 as I plan on having her in my stable for many years to come. :D

I thought I was going to use the 7900 group on a braze on frame so ordered that way but the plan changed.

Cannot be 'converted' but many 28.6, 31.8 and 34.9 clamp adapters. shimano makes clamp on in 31.8 with shims for 28.6 and a 34.9 front derailleur.
