One place to look is at the Serotta Pictures in "Image Gallery" section of SEROTTA forum and "OTHER bikes" at bottom of first page when you go to the forum;

Have you painted it using the paint program on web?

I painted my Kish with the colors you had in mind:

....but since you asked, I'll stick in my $0.02.
Keep it simple and classic. I'm getting really tired of the flashy, "look at me" paintjobs. I think they wear on the eye and they all look alike. How long are you planning to have the bike? If I were going to paint today, I'd pick a nice muted color and go classic, like a panel, perhaps. Black, with cream panels and red lettering, using your preferred colors?

To the original OP, you might want to look at the galleries of various builders for ideas, as well as NAHBS galleries. Another good spot is Campyonly.com, which has a "modern" and retro galleries.

I have several bikes, so the Kish was more splashy for me. Mine is a copy of a mtb that Jim had on his website. I kept the lower half bare ti, so the bike would look less worn from nicks around the chainstays, bb and all.

FWIW, I wasn't trashing your Kish. I actually like it.
My issue is with the production bikes out there now, especially the carbon frames. Look at a bike mag; you can't tell brand b/c every bike has the same pimped-out, swoosh-up-the-headtube flash graphics.
I have more of a workmanlike aesthetic taste myself.

To the OP: Get something you'll be satisfied looking at for a long time. I'm going on 10 years with my Concours, and I don't see myself getting another bike for quite a while.

I didn't think you were and I agree about the current paint schemes being billboards (Does the mfr's name have to be on all the main tubes?). Actually, I was originally going to paint the Kish with panels, like the 1993 Bridgestone RB-1 that I used to own. I like understated bikes too - one of the nicest was my friend's Rivendell in all black with gold letter decals. Also, my wife's Rivendell is British racing green with gold lettering; that green is hardly used anymore but is so classic. :beer:

Here is a gallery of creative paint jobs. Some people feel that they are in poor taste. I think they are works of art.

as far as flashy goes, pegoretti and colnago's seem to be loved as much for their flashy paint jobs ask their ride quality.

i love classic panels - there are some orange serottas with blue panels that i saw on the forum (one with the porsche 917 colors) that look fantastic. that said, my concours is triple onyx with red decals. it's simple and gorgeous.

the anchor steam green team serottas look great, too.

so, paint it to look like the one you like the best, but don't make it look like a pinarello, trek, specialized, etc.
