SOLD

Trying to decide whether to build this and ride it or try something else. . . it's an 2009 Calfee Bamboo Pro, the latest model with hemp lugs. It's a stock 54 Pro geometry, which can be found here: http://www.calfeedesign.com/pro.htm It's basically a sloping 55. Gorgeous work of art and rides like a beautiful carbon bike.

9.9 of 10 condition (i.e., mint when built with the usual tiny build marks). EC90 slx fork and Chris King headset. Open to trades of similar value, condition and size. I'll post some pics soon.

I have always wanted to try one of these—too bad it's a bit too small, or I would definitely have been interested in a trade.

Saw one of these in person a couple of weeks ago in Vail...UNREAL. That price seems pretty damn reasonable.

Ive seen Tom Byrnes Calfee bamboo bike and it is nothing short of spectacular! If this were my size, I'd scoop it up in a heartbeat.

Good luck with your sale!

Calfee is nearby, so I have seen the early and current bamboo road, mtb and tandem models in person. I few years ago I passed on a 56/DA7800 bike on the local CL....kinda always regretted that.

The early ones didnt have bottle mounts. I think he fixed that in the more recent years. Never got a chance to ride one, but supposedly very very smooth. I think the carbon footprint gets offset by the amount of resin used in the joints, but heck it's still cool. weight isnt bad, and would make a great year-round ride.

Hope somone scores this.

I highly recommend this frame. If this wasn't too small for me, I'd buy it.

If I were not married with a kid...

My size too.

This would look awesome with a Brooks and some brown bar tape.

Hey Steve,

Is he planning on using the bamboo ride for the 508?

Hey, some countries use the stuff for jails, so why not bikes?

Pics added. Thanks all, a couple deals under consideration but nothing finalized.

A couple notes: the Bamboo Pro requires a short seatpost due to resin in the seat tube; this one hasn't been cut yet as pictured. Build is Athena 11.
