Inexpensive Clear Lense Cycling Glasses

My wife has a nice pair of sunglasses that she enjoys but the lenses are not changeable. She is looking for an inexpensive pair of clear lenses glasses for those low light situations. Any suggestions?

I'd say go to nearby Performance store if you have one and try their inexpensive store brands etc. Get em when they are on sale. They fit and work fine just as well as many name brand pairs I have and I see no drastic difference particularly for the low light clear and orange lens.

Edit: With coupon/sale price you can get a good multi lens kit for something around $20 or less. Worth checking them out.

She should select a very pale yellow for low-light conditions.
It will add greater contrast and help pierce further into haze.
At night they will reduce vision-robbing headlight glare.

I got a pair of clear glasses for morning riding and a pair of goggles I can wear over my glasses for winter riding. They're cheap, optically near perfect and sturdy. Some of these are less than $5.

Yep, I picked up a cheap pair of safety glasses at Walmart for a few bucks. They fit great, had absolutely no distortion and were great for night riding. My only regret is that I waited a month before going back to buy the rest of them. They were all gone - every last pair. Replaced by a different model that had horrible lenses.

I get all my riding and garage glasses at Dollar Tree. $1 Seriously. My eye Doc says they are fine. I do have to go thru them to find ones that fit right and are OK made, etc.

+1 on the stylish'ish safety glasses.
-1 on the dollar store variety. My wife picked me up a pair that I knocked around in. However, the lenses aren't polycarbonate and I had one shatter one day when I went for a quick jaunt on the motorcycle and caught a stone a car threw up at me. Luckily the lense 'softened' the blow; so they were good for something. (Ironically, it was as if I could see the rock coming at my eye in slow-mo, I was able to close my eye, but I couldn't get my head out of the way fast enough.) And, yes, it hurt!

Many safety glasses even have the rippin' cool aero sweep. While I'm at it, HD work gloves have become my mtb gloves. $8.00/pair, and they even have a snot patch...

It's funny - we spend all this time on optimizing contact points on the bike, and then we often put on cheap-o safety classes that don't fit your ears and slide off your nose....
Guess I'm as fussy with what I put on my face as I am with what I put under my butt.

What makes you assume that they don't fit anybody well? First off, they don't bear the weight of your body so 100% custom/optimum fitting isn't necessary.

Also, safety glasses are presumably designed under the same standards as any other glasses; it requires not only impact protection, but optical clarity and comfort for 8-12 hours/day.

I got some Performance brand glasses with 3 sets of lenses. Dark, amber and clear. They were on sale at $35.00 (list for $50.00) and they work great, no complaints. Nice and light, easy to change lenses also.

I got some bling Kaenon frames with CLEAR lenses at one of the local swaps.
$20....hard to beat. however, unless it is raining, I'd actually prefer yellow lenses for the aforementioned reasons

OK - let me rephase that and say that FOR ME, cheap clear safety glasses tend not to fit and to easily slide off my nose, especially when sweaty. I find that there is often no nose pad and the optics are mediocre at best. YMMV.
