Is there any resource for information about a frame based on the serial number?

I recently acquired a Colorado II (64cm) the stamping on the BB is CC64 and 00040.

Somebody will give you a response but in the mean time do a search to the right above the general discussion list of posts. Then use advanced search and use "serial" under title only and you will get a number of threads. Not always the clearest answers though.

Look at the thread "CSI roll call...post your serial numbers. Three bikes seem to be early CSIs with CC as the code.

So:

CSI
64cm seat tube
40th one made
???? My best guess.

Is the Colorado II referring to the tubing listed on the seat tube?

CC=custom colorado-tubed steel frame. models Colorado and Colorado ll I think came before CSi. Colorado lll or C lll was a tigged frame using the same Colorado Concept tubes as the CSi for similar performance at a price quite a bit less.
