The memory is hazy, but I remember The Final Countdown by Europe being used back in the early to mid 90s. This year, Kings and Queens by 30 seconds to Mars got a lot of play.

Can anyone else recall TDF 'soundtracks'?

The obvious is John Tesh's two CDs that were played continually during race footage on broadcasts in the mid 80s. I have them both; not sure how easy they are to obtain now though.

Yanni -1987, the year Pedro Delgado lost in the final time trial & 1988, the year Pedro Delgado won.

PS. If anyone had that year (1987) DVD/Video, and wish to give it away, I would gladly pay for shipping. ;)

That Kings and Queens song is such a piece of crap. Who in the hell approved that, some 20 year old soft metal-girl?

Not what you're asking, but have you heard Rapha's Music from the Giro (http://www.rapha.cc/the-giro--music-inspired-by-the-giro-ditalia/)? An interesting mix of commentary and music. I found it worth the $15.50  but postage is unreasonable. :crap:

Kraftwerk did a whole album inspired by the tour.

. . . from WCP had great music. I have tried for years to find out what the names were so I could buy the songs, but never got a response to several e-mails to WCP. Very hard driving jazz type stuff.

I've got the Kraftwerk album. Some of it's great riding music, but some is, ah, not quite so great . . .
