If you used and wore the kit and bikes from your STATE only what would you wear and ride.

I'm from Colorado and have picked the following

Frame....Moots, Black Sheep, Dean, Zinn, Yeti etc.
Kit...... . Pearl Izumi and Boule from Durango
pedals... sampson
seat post...Eriksen or moots
custom cranks etc....Zinn
saddles
wheels custom from Colorado cyclists or Excel sports Boulder
fenders
SRM system
Cat eye for the mileage stats

I know I am leaving out alot of Colorado vendors... my goal here is to not disrespect anyone not on the lists or make one state be better than the others but hopefully just share all the great stuff from the U.S.

Boston: IF or Seven.

Greater New England: Spooky and Svelte

Chicago: Waterford and Sram (Cause Indiana is just a waste of space).

Well, Waterford is actually in Waterford, WI ... not Chicago! Although you'd think it was Chicago every weekend with all the IL license plates that are in the area (I live about 10 minutes from the Waterford factory!)...

I could own a fleet of Washington state bikes:

Davidson: I already have one, could use another; probably a classic lugged frame in Reynolds 953

Rodriguez: I'd get their S&S coupled touring bike with 26-inch wheels

Curtlo: Tig steel racing bike

Baron: Baron Outsider "rain bike" w/disc brakes for winter training rides in the rain

333fab: cross bike

Donkelope: 29er mountain bike

Hampsten: would have to visit Hampco Towers in person and ask Steve H. what I need to finish out the fleet

I thought Handle Bra was used by Caymus also.

My new Serotta will need Steve to get some of the Handlbra on it. And it will be used on my trip to Austin, I heard Smiley has it on the Maryland flag!

I chose Waterford because Schwinn is Pacific or some other basterdized something or other and, while there are a few Indiana frame builders, Indiana as a whole should just serves to make my trips to Pittsburgh and Boston too long (you can say the same thing about most of Ohio and 95% of Penn)

And if you ask me, "Well, with that logic why didn't you choose Trek." I'll respond by saying that if I want a bike that looks like a Trek, I'll buy a Serotta.

(Notice how I said LOOK and not RIDES)

In PA, I'd get a Spectrum frame (I guess it would have to be steel to keep it local, my two ti frames were made by Merlin down south) and an Albert Bold seatpost. Not aware of other stuff made here these days except a few other custom builders (Bilenky, Oswald, a few really small guys). But, hey, not a bad start!

Arizona is a bit dry in climate and bicycle manufacturers. In Tucson I know there is Bohemian, I've only ever seen one in Tucson but the lugs I remember. I think also that Titus is out of Phoenix but I may be wrong on that. We have lots of great shops and riding and don't mind supporting other states in our buying habits!

MD - not much to offer.

Holland for a bike, but I don't think he is making frames anymore.
Velo Orange has some nice offerings.

Other than the above, I can't think of much that is made in Maryland cycling wise... but we do have Smiley for a superb fit!

Hrmmmm.....

I spend a lot of time in NH: I could have a Drummond Custom frame, and Peter White could build my wheels. Not sure what I would use to power the damn thing... but going down hill would be a blast! (except for the end, cuz I wouldn't have brakes either).

In MA, I've taken a shine to Zanconato who is up in the area where I grew up. Seven and IF don't hold much appeal for me.

If you cross the state in south Fl , it would have to be alligators.

If you cross the state in Central Florida it would have to be Cows.

If you cross the state in North Florida it would have to be Universities.
Seminoles, and Gators

Us folks in New York state obviously can do very well in the frame deprtment with Serotta & Kelly Bedford. If New York exiles count, then we can add Dave Kirk and Dave Wages, and probably a few others.

Of course throw in some NY made Handle Bra, and Ergott built wheels and we're getting somewhere. I'd like to sneak over the border into Vermont for some Ibex clothing. The rest of the componentry will have to be smuggled in from elsewhere.
