Check out this http://www.bustedcarbon.com/2010/05/mavic-r-sys.html

Guys computer magnet went into his spokes, about 4 wrecked but the wheel didn't fold.... is this a deassuring R-Sys development ??

p.s. I don't work for Mavic !

Actually makes me think that the carbon spokes are not that great. I doubt that it would have done so much damage otherwise.

Actually the damage was caused by his speed/cadence sensor (Garmin GSC-10) hitting the spokes. Usually when the GSC-10 unit "falls" into the spokes, the GSC-10 gets decapitated with no damage to the spokes. The damage shown for the Rsys wheels is not impressive at all. No offense to Rsys owners, but this would make me very nervous. YMMV

I don't get the point of the R-sys wheels, they are finally a bit lighter but way more fragile than normal for Mavics. A good set of handbuilts with steel spokes will weigh a bit more, but will be repairable anywhere and probably last much longer. Cheap carbon factory wheels are nearly as light, more aero, cheaper and probably just as durable.

When will Mavic finally toss this R-Sys wheel idea into the dustbin?

There are just too many quality wheels out there to be messing with junk like R-Sys.

There comes a point when someone should tell the designer/engineer that enough is enough.
