There is a posting on eBay of a Legend by Livermore Cycles.

It claims that the bike has one of only 3 F1Ti forks made and that they were a $1200 item.

I didn't realize that my Concours with its F1Ti fork was so special. Maybe I should sell it after all. If the fork was $1200 when I bought it, plus the frame, D-A 9 speed....

Maybe I could get that Legend cross frame I keep dreaming about.

Naw - Reality check says this is way too much hype for an item that didn't cost 1/2 that much and was made in quantities larger than 3. :(

They did make only three forks. They labeled them F1, F2 and F3. Then they realized that if they kept that up there wouldn't be room for the numerals so they just stopped making them.

pretty funny...... i have one on my legend and one on the hor's. maybe serotta made 3 of the F1Ti forks in the year that they switched to the F2 model?? all are very nice forks but i know that i didn't pay $1200 clams for both of mine combined with custom paint.

Is the ad saying that the steerer is Ti, not just the dropouts?

The worst part is it isn't even the ti steerer fork. If it was wouldn't it have the F1 ti sticker on it??

The F1Ti fork was the one with the Ti steer tube and crown. It did have a special decal.

They had a pretty limited life in Serotta's catalog, but obviously more than3 forks were sold.

I just thought it was funny, especially from a dealer/shop.

. . . to the hyperbole and puffery you see posted on eBay . . . endlessly entertaining. I had no idea there were so many things that were “rare”!!
