I have a stinky pair of Shimano R300 that are in need of a backup. I have tried the R310. Even after heat molding, they do not fit quite the same.

I have heard that Northwave fit similar to Shimano. For those of you who have tried both, do you find this to be the case?

I am looking at the Aerlite SBS.

I tried on Northwaves last summer, so this is year old information, at that time I was wearing a Shimano SH-130 model that I still have. The Northwave Aerlite and other models were sized smaller and narrower than the same size Shimano except for the Vertigo model. Apparently Norhtwave had changed the sizing on that year's models except for the Vertigo. I was looking at Northwave because of their quality and ventilation.

I would have had to special order a half size in the hopes that it would be wide enough but not too long and was not willing to take that chance.

aerlite sbs are fantastic shoes. note: they run wide. i normally wear a "d" width in dress shoes, for reference, and my sbs 43's fit wonderfully.
