Advice for a sweater that is...

The temperature is on the rise here finally and I need some help. I sweat a ton and always have. I wear a bandanna or cycling cap under my helmet, but after an hour or so, they fill up and I get sweat in the eyes and sunglasses.

I have been looking at the Sweat Gutr and wondered if anyone had used one or had any other suggestions. Thanks.

I wear a Gutr, sometimes wish it had a dwnspt. I am somewhat hair impaired, not enough left to slow it down. I wear a bandana all the time, sunburn through the helmet vents hurts. Can't wear both.

I have a Halo (sic?) sweatband and a plain cap works better.

I like the pace cycling caps better than the headsweats. there is a little channel thing that seems to do a good job of directing drip to the sides, at least for me.

I have a Sweat Gutr and Halo Headband and give an edge in comfort to the Halo Headband. However I wore the Sweat Gutr for a whole summer without discomfort and this would be the best choice if you want to be certain that saturation is not a problem. I would try whichever one a LBS has. The Sweatbands wore up to a point and the Halo Headband will control a lot of situations. For really hot weather the Sweat Gutr will control any volume of sweat. The Sweat Gutr can also be used in conjunction with a Sweatband.

Good summary.

Only one issue with the Sweat Gutr, if you lean your head down the sweat will spill out and run down your face.

I find the Halo does work good especially in spin class where there is no wind to help evaporate the sweat. The cloth sweat band portion will fill up and spill over the built in rubber band when the rate of sweat gets real high. Halo is still the best overall IMO.

94 degree temp and 70 degree dewpoint yesterday. Halo worked great.

Halo Headbands ... either tie (I prefer the tie) or solid (no-tie).

Sell 'em at the shop. The colors they are available in are black, blue, red, white, or pink.

They work like a charm. ;)

i am considering riding only when the temp is less than 80 degrees...
early and late in the day may be my only options
unless you find a suitable solution!

I wear an old baseball type cap with a big bill in front. no sweat in eyes or glasses.
the bill keeps sun out better than cycling caps and directs sweat off me better than anything else.
An old cheap cap I got in ocean city works great as well as the cap I got from dave kirk.
Only problem is the rather high fred, dork numbers that come with wearing it under a helmet.

I've got a melon head so the typical "fitted" or "one size fits most" headgear never fits me. Plus, I sweat like a mule. I really like the Halo with the loose ties in the back. It keeps the sweat out of my eyes and off my glasses and doesn't drop a bunch of sweat when I lower my head.
