I have a 1984 Serotta...steel frame with chrome fork. How can I find out what model it is? Nothing on it makes it obvious. Thanks.

The Murray by Serotta had a Chrome fork in the era.. Does the fork have any markings on it? It is an SL steel and if no markings on fork than someone switched forks over the past 20 plus years

I bought the bike new so no fork swap. The fork has a yellow Serotta "S" on the crown.

Serotta had decals on the top tube that proclaimed the model. Also the seat tube lug was peculiar to some models so maybe some pics would help. Back in those days, Serotta's serial numbers were merely sequential and contained no info regarding model, size, etc. l

Yellow decal on the Fork has me at a lost. I looked at an old catalog and did not see anything there for a specific offering.

Sorry.

I wonder if he's talking about a Serotta 'S' embossed into the crown and then filled with yellow paint?

The 1985 catalog states: "Chroming is available on ANY frame. Full chrome fork and 3/4 rear triangle is $150.00"

Fork is embossed with an S with yellow paint. There is no decal of the model. I'll try to post a picture this evening.
