was tooling around their site and ran across their magnesium clinchers.
22 wide rims, <1300 g for the pair.

I can tell you they're lighter than that... And more stiff than the old 350's.

I'm really liking them (no big shock).

Three cross 32 spokes in the rear and radial 28 up front seems smart without silly compromises. But white only? Kinda blingy.

"The new 2010 White Flame Magnesium is state-of-the-art wheel technology, unparalleled in the cycling industry. It is the fastest accelerating, best cornering race wheel available. Magnesium is lighter than aluminum and more durable than carbon, with a special ride quality of its own. The decreased rotational weight of Mag rims allow the rider to reach speed quickly and hold it longer with lower energy output."

geeezz...."unparalleled in the cycling industry"? Fastest, best, lighter, durable, decreased, quickly, longer, lower....think he got them all....

Price seems right for that wheel.

Blue? Any chance for red instead?

I guess the price is "ok" but I think I would opt for a hed ardennes or similar. A bit more weight but less cost.

I need a pair of wheels and there are just so many options. It is easy to start at one price and then move up a little and then a little more until you are looking at wheels that cost twice as much.

The HEDs also intrigue me although the different brake width is an issue. But since my frame and fork will handle wider tires and fenders the HEDs seem to be a good match.

Joe Young can also build up the Velocity A23s at a great price.

Just have to make a decision - it won't be the American Classics.

I think the white rims would look good with a white bike. Not sure any other wheel builders are supplying anything white.

They're not to bad on a black bike... actually look better when the bike is pointing the other way because thar red part is actually blue on the other side...
