Greetings!

I was reading TooMany's thread on the Moab fondo, and one of the replies mentioned the Poison Spider bike shop. I thought, "What a cool name for an LBS" and wondered if they had their own jerseys. I wear a lot of boring plain colored jerseys but would love something with a little more panache. Since I have no business wearing a pro team jersey, as it would be an embarassment to even the lowliest team to have theirs on my back as I creep uphill around home, a jersey from some far flung LBS might be worth picking up.

The Poison Spider jerseys are very cool  , so I thought I would start a thread to see what LBS jerseys your folks find either cool looking, or those with some other significance to you.

Please post links or pics if you have them.

Sellwood Cycles Team S&M Jerseys. I prefer the old style but the new has a Moltini feel to it.

There was a shop in State College, PA (now defunct I believe) that had the shop motto - "All Professional and ****" - displayed prominently along the back of the jersey.

I'm pretty fond of my Velo Cult jersey (http://www.velocult.com/index.php/store/product/mens_velo_cult_short_sleeve_wool_jersey_large/) woven with kindness by the elves at Woolistic.

Saratoga Springs locals, please help me on this one: back in the late '90s, I got a jersey from a shop that looks like Blue Sky Bicycles (might have had another name then) that featured a design by the artist Keith Haring.

That jersey was (another) victim of the bike/car collision that sent me to the emergency room a few years later. I wish I still had that jersey!

I actually hope to have a Poison Spider jersey by the end of the weekend - I get into Moab late tomorrow though, and I take a large, so I'm thinking there may be a good chance that my size will sell out quickly.

I have a short sleeve t-shirt from a New York City shop called City Cycles
with a cool Keith Haring design. It used to be located near University Place.

TooMany, I hope you score a Poison Spider jersey. I like the "classic" design better than the new version. They have some cool colors, too. I am partial to the blue and black one.

Here is the link for everyone:

My folks picked this up for me a couple years ago. It is the bike shop in the small town in Spain, where my grandfather was from. It's not really a "local" bike shop but I think it is pretty cool.

Sorry for the quality...cell phone camera.

Rim Cyclery in Moab is cool, or it was 5 years ago when I was there. There is really fun boldering if you are in to that all over Moab.

Back on topic, I like Vecchios jersey:

One of the more active LBS in the area is called Fat Frogs Bike and Fitness. The name was chosen simply because they liked the way it sounded.

I often wear the Jersey to out of town event rides and it almost always draws comments.

The first year they only came in green. Now they have pink, blue, yellow, brown and a few others.

Not my official LBS since it's across the bay, but I like BDB's kit.

Paradox Bicycle Center

The store was indeed Paradox Bicycle Center and it was a few blocks west of where Blue Sky is now. The building is now I think an insurance agency. The store was owned by Gianna Roberge and several others. I also still have a baseball cap from the store that featured their other logo--a rabid looking dog on wheels. If you check out the "Art" page of the web site below you will see some dog clocks that feature almost the same dog.

Sorry to disappoint you, but the intertwined lizards on the jersey were not designed by Keith Haring. The designer--as far as I know--was the husband of a local TV camerawoman who I know from my work at the local paper. They now live in Scotland and here is their web site:

There were dudes at Bicycle Tour of Colorado years ago called "The Fatmen" out of New Jersey.
Their jersey had no words. It was just a bright red jersey, and their Fatman logo silhouetted against a white background front & back.
Very cool and very different.
