Is there any problem using a 140mm stem? I've recently switched from a 130mm, and I feel very comfortable, and more powerful. The bike seems to handle fine. Does anyone here use a long stem?

I have a Cinelli 140mm Grammo threadless stem on one of my bikes. Just rode it this morning. Worked great. If it makes your bike better balanced, use it.

it is an indirect measure of
your optimism...
but sometimes it keeps me
from reaching my handlebars!
Since no one asked, how big is your frame. How tall are you?

Works for me. I was riding a 130 and this season on my Ti bike and tweaked that bike position to match my fav. steel bike...the 140 did the trick. As a general observation it is usually seen in context of tall / big folks who like plenty of drop.

Only a jerk would ride a 140 mm stem. :) (yzffr11, that's an inside joke about a guy with that handle on this board, nothing personal).

I am VERY proud of my 140mm stem.
