I won a race or two on a set of Roval's, so there almost my favorite wheels of all time.

I say almost because the problem I had was that the brass washers would crack on me, therefore the spokes would lose tension. I couldn't just buy the special washer either. You had to buy the spokes too and the set was pretty darn expensive. I never did rebuild my set and are currently sitting in some landfill.

Also, no cassette option.

They are certainly cool as a conversation piece. The lack of availability of decent freewheels will be a problem. Freewheels are rapidly truly disappearing.

Be aware of where they are - in Great Britain. That might or might not be an issue.

Get some Hyperons instead. With Dugast silk tubulars. That is what everyone who's cool runs nowadays anyway.

:D

Thats a horrible deal. 200 US plus shipping for an old pair of 7 speed wheels.
My god, buy some Mavic Mach2 tubular rims for 20 bucks each from Nashbar, get some Ultegra hubs, or campy Centaurs, and build a new wheelset set.

Send the parts to me, I'll build'm for three cases of beer..:)

I had some. They were fair in their day, pretty wimpy in the lateral stiffness realm, good for timetrials, I never would use them for mass start events. Do you still use 7 speed freewheels? I use them on my tandem only. If you do, I'll be happy to sell you a bunch of nice, solid campy hubbed 7 speed freewheel tubular wheels for a pretty darn good price.

Bud Light?

Coors light would be just fine. Or kettle vodka.
