Looking for the place in the UK that has good kid bikes... it is listed somewhere on the forum, but I can't locate it.

Anyone know the company and website? (want to get my soon to be 3 y/o a good balance bike, and my soon to be 5 year old a bigger bike.) I just don't like what Trek and Specialized are putting out for kids today. Wish I could find good, relatively cheap BMX bikes for kids...

Back in the day Diamondback made some schweet bikes... mind you I am talking 30 years ago...

I've been doing some searches for my 4 year old daughter as well, their bikes look really great but I'm uncertain about purchasing a bike from the UK, especially due to duties, shipping, etc. If you purchase one from them, let me know about the experience because their bikes look like a great bike for my daughter.

I think relative to the Walmart et al brands the Trek's and Specializes are worth the extra green. Probably can go upstream from there but my guess choices will be limited and pricey and generally speaking you experience diminishing marginal returns for each extra dollar spent.

My version of Schweet(pun intended) - sans the gear shfiter:

Islabikes are the ones (IMHO). They are very lightweight (esp. in comparison w/ Ridgeback, Specialized & others). We have worked on a few of them - they are very well specced, nice & light & the parts are good quality (eg; proper aheadset head sets). Can't recommend them too highly - especially having worked on a wide range of heavy kid's bikes with brakes that they either can't reach, or are too stiff.
