hello folks, i have a question about a pinarello crankset.

my local craigslist has an ad for a pinarello branded crankset with exactly what i need for my Merlin build, namely 170 arm length, and 34/50 compact gearing.

my questions are:

who actually made these cranksets, i assume they are made by a 3rd party and rebranded pinarello

the crank comes with a BB, does pinarello use english or italian threading (i assume italian, but you never know..)

what bottom bracket is this if i need to buy an english version for my Merlin.

so far the seller hasnt responded, i'm just trying to see if this is a viable option, link to CL ad with picture below:

FSA junk.... They are/were sold in complete builds.. This is how the maximize profit.. Using most bars and stems and crap cranks.. They do look cool though. : )

Why on earth do u want a pinarello crank on a merlin..

my guess is that the included BB is Italian. In that case you'll need to get an English ISIS BB. For spindle length, I'd guess the same from what's included (113 or 118).

interesting, i'll have to see what the seller comes back with regarding price. i'm really trying to stick to a low bedget and get on the road, this is good to know though.

Stellablue asked the right question, not that the cranks suck so much but itsa Merlin! which begs for a different crank, kinda like puttin Alfa Romeo Wheels on a Shelby, not that its bad, just wrong.

People love Merlins? I thought they just dump them on CL or sit on showroom floors for 10 years

For info..double crank spindle length for ISIS is 108mm...
