I've been offered a nice deal on an Edge 2.0 fork for my road ride. Currently running an Ouzo Pro with no complaints. Money aside, any opinions as to whether I should make the switch? I'm a 190 lb, non racing 150-200 mile-a week guy.

Thanks, Chris

Edge.. You can't go wrong with either..

IMHO if you already have a OP, there is no reason to spend money to replace it for perfromance reasons. If you were buying one of the two for the first time, I'd pick the Edge, since they have taken the OP and evolved it.

There are differences, but not enough to warrant discarding the existing and shelling out money for new....even if "cheap", and especially given your riding description. spend the dough in other places or just save it.

However, if you like the aesthetics of a straighter leg, that'd be a reason to change. Spending money on looks is completley personal

Depends upon how old the OP is.....

I usually replace my carbon forks after 25K miles, which somne people tell me is overkill.

i've got OPs on customer bikes running over 100k mi.

note there is a 5mm diff in axle to crown length between the 2.

Yeah, my only complaint about the OP is that I can't run 25mm tires with any clearance.

Thanks for the help, all-- I think I'll ride the OP for a while and put the $$ towards something else.

Best, Chris

That's odd. I run 25mm on mine.

Good point-- my :interference is with the current brake-- less than 1 mm clearance with Sram brakes. I'm switching to another brake with more clearance and it should provide enough vertical room.

Just curious on your thoughts on how often a carbon forl with a acrbon steerer should be replaced?

I love the ride of my edge forks. Most of my forks are edge now. If they only made a 1", I would be set.

Does anyone know why the ouzo pro (or any reynolds fork) are not made anymore?

when it is crashed hard or looks suspect. IMO, never based purely on age or miles.

presumably because the parent company has been divesting and the brand is currently into wheels solamente probably due to margins and the loss of the talented fork developers through divesting.
