I'm taking off the paint on my bike. I really like the look of plain titanium but I'm afraid it will look to boring. Does anyone have any pictures of their lovely plain steeds?

man that's a nice looking frame (and bike!). my only problem is my fork is painted and i don't know the right away of safely removing it without hurting the carbon fiber. I know how to get a matte looking bike but how do i get it nice and shiney!

Trav,
What color is your fork? You could always leave the fork painted and get matching decals and saddle. That would look real nice as well.

My fork is a burnt orange, I really just want to carbon fiber look but like I said, I don't want to hurt the carbon fiber by using chemicals. I may do a decal set. I've got a black bar/stem combo, black carbon record seatpost and a Fizik Aliante seat with black Ksryiums. It's a pretty stealth looking bike, I just wanted more titanium to show.

Here's another plain ti bike. Kinda like dirtdigger's but prettier. Then again I may be biased for some strange reason. ;)

He'll remove the old paint, apply whatever decals you like, and clear-coat it all. No better work in the world. Probably cost you $75-$100. Jeff N.

I like plain Ti too, just can't see any reason to paint it. Here's my Legend Ti, and a couple of Colorado Al's that I have too.

I have an early Merlin Extralight. Bare. White decals. It really does get boring and look like every other bare ti bike out there -- Moots, Serotta, Merlin, doesn't matter.
I have a late 90's Legend. Half painted green (I didn't choose, bought it used, but I like it anyway). Much nicer. Stays pleasing to the eye and doesn't get boring.

Check out the painted Serotta ti photos plastered around the forum and the Serotta website before you take the leap.
(Of course you can always paint it again if you don't like it. Got $$?)

i'm halfway through the paint removing process. It's taken around 4 hours to get the rear triangle and top tube. I really just have to get the down tube and fork. The longest time is the details around the seatpost and brakes. I'll post before and after pictures when I get finished. Thanks for all of the pictures, if anyone has anymore send them. It really helps me while I try and figure out exactly what I want to do decal wise. I gotta say, that pink bike with the Italy bar tape was pretty awesome, I guess I'm not strong enough in my masculinity to sport that look. maybe if i shaved my head and had an earing it would work
