I bought this from 55/Rad last August and it is in great shape and looks fantastic. Unfortunately my arse doesn't like it.

Did the cutting of the saddle make it more flexible? Just curious.

I bought it already chopped - I think 55/Rad had it done. Therefore I am unable to answer the question as to the effect the modification had on the saddle.

I missed this saddle - I might have bought it back. Glad to see it going to good home.

Cutting it did nothing to the flexibility/firmness of the saddle. Of course, using it for 20 years might have some sort of effect but from what I've read, if it's cut right, it shouldn't be a problem.

I didn't cut it myself. George Leakos (Roadfix at bikeforums.net) kindly did it. Here is a page of some of his work - http://fixedgeargallery.com/articles/brooks.htm
