figuring out how much time I will can on a climb with a certain bodyweight loss?
I guess like a way to calculate the amount of power saved?

I am on a 20 pound weight loss quest from 172 to 152 and then I am going to reward that with a lighter bike by a few pounds...

PERFECT! Thank you so much. It shows me that even when I lose the 20 pounds drop 2 pounds on my bike I still need to gain 50 watts for my half hour power. :crap:

I raced up a hill last weekend and I was dropped. This would put me near the front.

I have my work cut out.

Depends on what kind of power you can hold- goal weight is 69 kg- weight loss is 9 kg, more like 10 kg if you count the bike change.
So at 210 watt 3 watt/kg you save 27-30 watt. If you can hold 280 watts the savings is 36-40 watts. 350 watts (really strong) 45-50 watts.

Thank you. The calculator is really cool but seems a bit off or just needs tweaking of the numbers.

The hill was 6.6 miles with about 2000 ft elevation change and my time was 34 minutes and change. They guy that won was under 29 minutes. The power the calculator shows is high but it helps me in a relative sense.

I really just started training with purpose in the fall and have only just begun training to increase power at threshold. I am not sure what is possible for an increase in power but I want to do that race next year and hang with the group.

at 69-70kg I am as small as this body will allow so I will have to get in better shape from that point!
