Tech Q: Sun Ringle Rim Swift SL1 - 16mm Nipple?

hey all:

i'm hoping to set up a new pair of wheels for my lady friend's commuter, and i picked up a pair of 32 hole Sun Ringle Swift SL1's, and IRO high flange track hub. i just read on jenson that the Swifts require a 16mm nipple. i was thinking about going with DT butted spokes, so i'm wondering what gauge of butting/spoke to order. any help is appreciated. thanks.

You can't go wrong with DT Competition 14/15/14 spokes for this wheel. Also no problem to get 16mm 14ga DT nipples.

and the nipples? i've only ever built with the nipples (brass) that come with the spokes, and never had a problem. are 16 gauge actually a different size on the outside-to-outside diameter? also, do you know if there are 'internal eyelets' on this rim? thanks.

Yes, you'll need 16mm nips and they're available in both 14 and 15 gauge.
