This is a pretty neutral article but feel free to start the usual OT bickering if it offends you. :D
Indeed there appears to be a cycling connection but maybe it’s more than daylight for riding.
He doesn’t quite come out and say how earthquakes slow the earth’s rotation, but hints that it may increase rotational inertia. That should make all the high-cost light-weight bicycle wheel buyers ecstatic to be proven right. ;)
Dammit - that 1.26 milliseconds was the difference between me and the Tour de France.

Doesn't shorter days mean faster rotation? Less rotational inertia? Happy wheel buyers either way.
