I'm flying out to Portland at the end of the week and I'm bring the Pegoretti!

Any good advice on any good group rides would be greatly appreciated!

Also routes for solo excursions would be awesome too!

Thanks!

I don't know where you will be staying, but a good one is to....

Climb up to Skyline Blvd.

Follow Skyline to Newberry (I forget how many miles that is) and go right down the hill. It's steep with some sharp turns..watch out for the hairpin near the bottom. This will bring you out to Hwy 30

Turn left onto Hwy 30 and follow it for a few hundred yards until you get to the bridge onto Suavie Island. After you cross the bridge and get down to the bottom of the hill, turn right. This road will loop you around the island and bring you back to the bridge. It's winter so you may not see any nudies at the nude beach. ;)

Once you get back to the bridge, re-trace your steps: Hwy 30, climb up Newberry, and ride rolling Skyline back in. Lots of great views, a good amount of climbing, and some flatland riding on the island.

Skyline
Newberry
Hwy 30
Suavie Island

I know many more but I would have to consult a map to remember all the road names.

Logi (sp?) Trail is another good one.

Here you go,

Logie Trail Skyline Loop (46.02 mi.). You can also find the route I suggested off this map.

Quite a few more around the PDX area....
