Things that make you go "hmmm"!

I think it is super cool for us on the east coast and I will try to go but I wonder what the teams think if that kind of travel for a Grand Tour.

Giro d'Italia Prologue brought to you by the Olive Garden.

One heck of a transfer from the US to Italy for stage 1 or 2.

Wonder if they will follow the typical travel schedule normal people do, where you leave the US at 8pm (after racing) and arrive the next day at 7am or so.. and then get a rest day?

Can only imagine what it would feel like to ride a hard prologue, or contest a field sprint and then spend 8 hours that evening in an airline seat.

This has been brewing for a while, but thanks for the link to Dcist. Just like its NYC sibling, Gothamist, the comments are usually more entertaining than the news item itself.
1st comment: "If there's one thing DC needs more of, it's lycranauts and illegal aliens."
Later, "All across town fancy lads just got a little too excited for this announcement."

Reminders of how the rest of the world views us cyclists. (Although Gothamist commenters tend to be vociferously pro-bike lanes.)
