I'm surprised this has not come up yet. We must not have any big fans.
I figured I'd kick things off. (Straight up, not against the spread.)
I can think of good reasons to root for either team, but don't really care one way or the other.
I haven't seen the spread, but have to believe that Indy is favored by at least 6 pts.
Note that you have the option to pick multiple answers so you can go with both your heart and your head.

Cowboys over the Vikings...no..wait...
Should be fun to watch. The Saints are a hell of a team, but I think the Colts have more. Better defense and, as good as Brees has gotten, Manning is the best QB in the game over the past decade and I don't think its even close. I go back to watching Johnny Unitas play every week and I don't think I've ever seen any better than Peyton and damn few were in the same league.
The BALTIMORE Colts were the team of my youth. If they'd changed their name or even just their uniforms, I'd probably be well over them by now. But there's something about those classic, unchanged, blue and white uniforms with the double stripes on the shoulders and the classic Colt helmet that still makes the memories of my 8-year old heart go all pitter patter on me.
The Colts should win, but I don't think they're THAT much better, so it could be a good game and I won't be shocked if New Orleans wins. Any given Sunday and all that.

Colts all the way. I gotta back em. My sister and her husband are die-hards and we have the family franchise's other half here in the metro NY area!

Less than 100 guys will play football, over 100 million will argue about it as if they had played. I so don't get this...

I have a good friend who's a huge Steelers fan, just means I'm subjected to polka fight songs around this time of year - there's nothing good about that.

then let it go.... Some of us like football... you could say the same thing about cycling, but we still argue that as if we'll be in the Tour this year...

As a Patriots fan (born and raised) I have my issues with the Colts, but they have my respect.
Top down: owner, GM, coaches (plural because Dungy's (even Tampa's win) reign was also great), players... they are a class organization.
Brees is no Peyton yet, but his accuracy is astounding and I root for that team because I root for that city.
I am really looking forward to a Superbowl that is between two great teams.
That said, SLO is right, its a good day to hit my hill before kickoff.
Cheers,
Joshua

No, really I can't. I only watch the rest day in the tour 'cause it's the only part I can identify with...

You sure know how to fart in a room don't you?
Being from the Midwest, I will root for Indy, although I just want it to be a good game. Since I live in Maryland now, seeing the Colts win would really tick off the Ravens fans and that would make me smile.
Gotta go for my home team!! Possible loss of Freeney could really hurt though, Brees is killer accurate.

That could be another reason I never get invited to superbowl parties...
