I need some recommendations on a frame pump. I'm going to get it painted to match so the pump needs to be able to be taken apart. Anybody have any experience w/ the full size Park pump? I've had good experience w/ Park tools and customer service in the past. And the Park pump seems like it could be easily taken apart w/ parts readily available.

Rumor mill ranks Zefal HP rather well ..

I have mixed emotions.

In days of olde, the Silca was the pump to be painted.

My Kvale has a painted Zefal HPX, only the barrel is painted.

If silver will do, you can sand off the black from a HPX. Finished with steel wool and then metal polish, it comes out quite nice.

I've seen pics of bikes with the barrel of these (http://www.topeak.com/products/Mini-Pumps/Road_54-59cm_framesize) painted. Only the barrel tho, so you'd be left with the gray plastic on the handle and the head, not sure if that'll work for what you're looking for.

As far as function, I have 3 of them, and have had no complaints.

OP, what pump did you end up going with? I am going to get a frame pump painted to match my incoming custom. Leaning toward the Zefal HPX, but I'd love some other opinions.
