Hi all,
After watching the thread about choices for 700x25 tires for larger riders, I did some looking to find out if the Michelin Pro Race 2 was still available in 700 x 25. If you're not familiar with it, it ran a bit larger and rounder than the current Pro Race 3; more like 26-27mm across. They're what I rode for years with great luck; very light (220g I think) and no problem with flats/cuts.
Long story short, there's a vendor in Denmark who, apparently, still has a stock of these. But with the shipping costs to the U.S., it doesn't make sense unless there are multiple sets of tires to spread the cost out across.
So would anyone be interested in a group buy of Michelin Pro Race 2s, Black/Grey, 700 x 25? If we can get up to around 10 pairs, the cost will be just under $30/tire, so something like $65/pr including U.S. shipping.
I don't stand to profit from this; just wanted to propose a way for us big guys to get a good price on an increasingly rare (like, pretty much extinct!) tire.
Anybody interested?
Thanks,
John
