Pez Assistant editor just moved to N.O. and needs rides and contacts...

He followed his (really cut and even nicer and then even smarter) Girl there and I would love to help him out.

Unfortunately, he's also pretty quick...

Anyone that can help, post shops that he should try and or send me an email???

http://www.bicyclemichaels.com/, or GNO Cyclery on South Carrollton: http://www.gnocyclery.com/.

North Shore has the Tammany Trace trail: http://www.tammanytrace.org/

I lived in NOLA for two years (pre-Katrina). Unfortunately it's not the most cycle-friendly place, but there are decent rides. I've got a cycling friend who's still there if you need a riding buddy. Let me know.

I believe your friend has found his way around the Big Easy. He has hooked up with a local racer and started their own weekday ride. Seems that the early am starts were a bit too early. At least his new riding companion will provide him with interesting dialogue and opinions.

Two additional shops to check out are:

Bicycle World
http://www.bicycleworldla.com/bicycleworldla/BicycleWorldLA.html

Bicycle Connection
http://www.bicycleconnectioninc.com/

He has already made it onto the NOBC mailing list, so that means he found our website that has Ride, Shop and other information.
http://www.neworleansbicycleclub.org/

And if you go visit Randy's blog and scroll down to Saturday's edition, you can even check out your friend with his new riding companion.

Once the heat sets in maybe he will even be willing to join one of those early am rides.

Let me know if anything else is needed.
