I am building a fixed/single speed bike, I bought a complete Bridgestone 450 bike and sold most of the parts. I have around $60.00 in the frameset so I did not want to put a lot of $$ in the paint. The local powder coater did the paint for $35.00 + $15.00 for the clear. It actually is pretty decent. I did the bead blast myself so saved a few $$.

Looks nice! And a great-riding frame.
Please post some photos when you've built it up.

Wow! You should go to the local university/college and teach a course "Frugal 101". Very nice. Would also like to see the final product and final cost.

Most people fear powdercoating lugged frames as the "crispness" of the lug shore line gets lost with the thicker coating....

BUT that looks pretty good to my eyes!

no lie, that's a steal of a deal, in NYC that costs 150

Man, you really know how to stretch a dollar. Looks like a fun project. Did you rent the bead blaster?

strong work! That frame looks great--even the lugs. As others mentioned, that is sometimes difficult with powder coating. I think you scored.

We do a lot of food grade bead blasted parts where I work, so we have several blasters both cabinet and blast pot. :D

Very nice. Your powder coater did a better job than Spectrum did on the ex's.

That is a great deal. I have my first touring bike hanging up in the garage. I'd love to get it powdercoated and put it back on the road.

How much do you charge to do the blasting!? :)

Who did the powdercoat?
