What's happened to it? Has it been shut down, don't see any link to it. Enjoyed it over the years, plenty of interesting people there.

Setting it up on their new site - said in a few days. Will be upgraded capabilitiies. You'll also need to re-register. Not sure about history though?

They had an answer to a letter to the editor.

I haven't been on their forum regularly in some time (its blocked at work) but I was impressed by the quality of comments to a "Bikes & Tech" article on Sampson components ( http://velonews.competitor.com/2010/01/bikes-tech/sampson-aims-high-for-2010_102219 ). Not a substitute for a forum where anyone can open any topic up for discussion (that's both good and bad, I guess), but a useful feature nonetheless.

A crazy forum that had some useful comments but a lot of absurd nonsense as well. It always helped to remember there's a lot of nuttiness in the world and almost all of it ended up in the velonews forum.
