Ok, here's the riddle. To get traditional contact points right on new ride I need a little help in added bar height via the stem as I can't add any spacers. I need to pick up ~3 cm on a 110 or 120 cm stem. What angle of the dangle do I need to look for in a stem to get there?
Thanks!!

This link should help.

I printed the chart out and drew on it with a pencil. Helped me get things right. You should also consider the reach of the handlebars you plan to use, as well.

Dont forget if you use a different type of headset to factor in the diff in stack...

I takes a lot more angle to gain 3cm - about 17 degrees with a 110mm length. That's the difference between the lowest 73 degree and a 90. Compared to a common 84 (-6) degree, a flipped up 80 degree (to 100 or +10) would just about do it.

In addition to the headset and spacer difference, fork can be different lengths and the BB drop can also affect the required head tube length.

3cm? So what you are saying is that you bought a bike that does not fit?
A swing of 10 degrees on a 12cm stem gives you about 2cm. So add 15 degrees to what you are running now-
Might be new fork time?

If I remember my public math, your problem is a "cosine" (opposite over hypotenuse, I think). Don't have a calculator handy, but the angle should be whatever angle is associated with 30/120=.25. It sounds like a lot, and I may be wrong. It could be the "sine", but definitely not the "tangent". I think I'll go have a beer. Crap-- I can't -- have to go to work...
