Anyone know who makes a:
- MTB suspension fork with 100mm travel
- a tall steerer that is over the standard 265mm
- that will fit V-Brakes
- fits my 26" XC bike (a new to me Moots YBB)
- wont brake the bank?

Thanks in Advance

I don't have a fork to offer but I think you would have better fork choices if you go to Dics brakes, I bet that frame has dics mounts ?

Just a thought anyway.

No Disc Mounts on the older frame.
The upgrade would mean $425 disc tab at Moots (no longer $300) plus shipping both ways is another $100 plus changing the hubs on the wheels so we would be talking in the $6-700 range to upgrade to F&R discs...not gonna happen right now.

I guess I could run disc on the front only but am not sure how that effects bike handling/braking, ride, safety etc. I am not a big MTB'er but trying t get back into it this spring after a loooooong hiatus ;-)

Any input from the (peanut) gallery?

I don't know what your price point is, but you can still get the Sid Race from Rock Shox with brake bosses. It's one of the options for this fork.

Fox has a couple of forks with canti bosses as well.

I don't know the length of the steerer tube, but they should be able to get you that information over the phone.

Just built up an Indy Fab deluxe with v brakes on the rear and disc on the front. Feels fine actually. I put BB7 on the front and it modulates in a very similar fashion to the v brakes. Can't speak to the longer steerer tube, but if you go the disc route, Jenson has the brake for $40.

I have two friends that also run BB-7s on the front and v-brakes on the rear for their SS MTBs.
