clear coating decals

Any suggestions? Friend picked up a '91 Simoncini off of ebay and the decals are not clear coated. What can he do to help keep them preserved?

That's a tough one. If you clear just over the decals you'll have a dry edge that will look crap-like.

You really need to clear the whole frame if you are doing a rattle can deal.

I've handpainted clear (auto touch up) over decals on a Surly CrossCheck, and it turned out looking OK... and very durable.

Use a bright light... and hold off on the espressos beforehand... :rolleyes:

You might also consider applying clear protective flim like Bonk! (http://bonkprotection.com/prods.html) over the decals.
