Take a deep breath and reconsider. No one can look cool on a unicycle.

Several months ago my friend and I were going north on PCH in Huntington Beach and saw a guy in full team kit and helmet on the otherside of the road. He was probably going 18 mph+or -.
I've seen video of an off road Uni-cycle cult that looks just F-ing crazy.

2 1/2 years ago there was a unicyclist doing the 204 miles in 2 days. Looked like a lot of work.

At a garage sale.
I almost broke my back trying it...
Unicycling has been added to the list
Of things I cannot do
Or really stink at!

Unicycles are fun. I learned when I was a kid. I found it at a yard sale and wouldn't suggest spending the money on a new one if you are just learning.
It isn't that tough to learn. After a couple days you'll be riding all over the place.

They are really fun. I keep thinking I'll make myself one but never do. I had one when I was a kid and had a ball with it.
Tubulars or clinchers on the Uni?

Wow. A kirk uni...stirs the imagination. I rode in the Seagull Century a few months ago and someone rode the metric version on a unicycle. Never saw the guy, but think it's cool that people do stuff like that.

That'd be awesome in 953 tubing!

I know a guy who does the off-road variety. He's quite good at it and can keep up with the mtb'ers on two wheels for about 10 minutes (not downhill of course); then he's toast.
Riding a uni is the opposite of road riding. On a uni, you want to really sit on the saddle, the more of your weight you can put to the saddle the better.
On a road bike, it is nice to take a load off with your pedal revolutions.
DK is right... they are fun. The one in my garage is missing a crank arm.
BTW. Pedals, Crank arms, and saddles take a beating on a unicycle.

I guess someone's gotta do it, or the world becomes a boring place.
