Although Asphalt magazine updated their web site in December, I still haven't received an issue. I paid $34.95 last march and have only 1 issue to show for it. Has anyone received the latest issue (vol.2 issue1)? I have been given several excuses from Patrick Brady and still no issue. Finally I emailed him and asked for a refund of the original $34.95 less the cost of the single issue I received last summer. Now, he will not even reply to my emails. The next step was to call the publication to requst my refund and received no return phone call. It would be much easier if they would be honest and tell me the publication is history. Anyone else working to resovle their issues with Asphalt magazine?

Some time ago, I did get the fourth issue of my one year substription. While I enjoyed reading every issue, I will not be renewing. Too much uncertainty with this publication.

Hypnos,
At least you got the 4 issues you paid for. I paid $34.95 for my single issue.
Too bad, it was a decent publication.

I hope not but the evidence is mounting...I am waiting for issues promised 2-3 times (over 2 months ago) and paid for. I am contacting the Paypal folks to see if any recourse. Too bad. I hope these folks have the decency to refund $$$.

Kirk: Patrick?

Patrick (disguising voice):Uh, he's not here right now.

Kirk: This is Kirk Pacenti. I just wanted to know if Patrick still wanted me to send the bike for the road test in "Asphalt"...

Patrick (in his own voice): Oh, sorry Kirk--I thought you were someone else. A lot of nuts have been calling lately--can't get any work done. Yeah, yeah, the bike---you can ship it. We'll test it right away. I think we can make the next issue if you express freight it. That was a 58 cm, right? With Record? I'll let you now as soon as we get it. By the way, Kirk, we've been having some trouble with the phones here--I'll let you know our new number...

I am sure if things were going south, he'd have mentioned this to me.

I'm surprised that you have not received your issue because I received mine a long time ago. They have always been bad at returning e-mails although I had better luck with the phone.

Good luck.

my issue arrived 6-7 weeks ago.
patrick's mag can almost be considered a boutique
periodical; he's practically a 3-man shop. there is
no "paid" staff. it's a beautiful presentation. i'll
continue with my subscription as well as my
paid advertisements.

Well after 2.5 months of email excuses, today I received the latest issue of Asphalt magazine in the mail. Nice review of the Hampstem Strada Bianca. This truely is a wonderful publication. Maybe one of these days they will be able to publish more than one issue a year.
