I have a non Serotta, lugged frame that I love and is in need of a paint job. After seeing the 7-11 Huffys the last few days I really love that look.

If I left the Serotta off the chain stays, would it be wrong to copy the paint job? Did any other companies make the 7-11 Huffy frames.

no way many. its more than just an iconic paint job, its a nice paint job as well.

I see nothing wrong. It will make you bike look sweet.

The colors are very nice....Steve Hampsten had a bike painted like that and you can send him a note to find out who did it.... Or get a bike from him and the paint....if you ride a 55cm you might be able to talk him out of his :)

Color and paint scheme are fine.... I could not even get the Huffy or Murray decals on a SEROTTA at this time, because of copy rights....

It's your bike! Paint it the way you want it. There's no right or wrong.

If you ever get to Boulder, Colorado visit University Bikes and you can see the bike that AH won the Giro riding on display. It is in pretty good shape and the paint job looks pretty good...

Slawta did the Hampsten bike. Anyone can rock it if they want.

Here are a couple of links to the two CSi's I own that have 7-11 paint job variations. Slight differences but both work for me. Also, one has TdF lugs and one has standard lugs, good chance to compare.

Thanks for that. Vecchio's in Boulder has a 7-11 Merckx in the window, BTW-

Is that custom or the typical angle of a steel Serotta? How does it ride?
