Upon looking around the internet, I have seen some places selling 2008 Sram Red parts as well as 2009 Sram Red parts.

Is there a difference at all between the parts? Or is it merely like a "born on" date so you know when it was manufactured? I would assume a 2008 Red crank would be identical to a 2009 red crank?

Just curious.....I never saw Shimano parts listed like that with DA7800

I seem to remember SRAM beefing up their chainrings on the Red crankset from the first generation. Perhaps this was the year it was done and this is the way to differentiate the two? I may however be talking complete bollocks.
