Im thinking about buying this bike

its a steel planet cross from 2004 by independent fabrications
9 speed DuraAce shifters with ultegra for the rest of the parts
Alpha-Q carbon fork

the guy wants 1000 for it

good deal?

im selling my current race bike for this and borrowing some money so ide like a few opinions before i commit to it

please let me know if this is a good deal

You wouldn't have any problem breaking it up and selling it to get your money back should you ever need to.

You don't say why you want to get rid of your race bike to own the IF. That factors into the equation.

the bike im racing right now is a redline conquest pro and doesnt fit me quite right
the components on the redline are nicer, but the frame is a bit big for me and that doesnt help at all when racing cross

this IF is a bit more compact and hopefully will fit me better

well see

i think im going to take the plunge and buy the IF
its worth it cost wise and hopefully it will be more comfortable for me

Looks like it has an expensive campy seatpost on it too, you could get some money back by selling it and throwing something cheap on it.

I bet you could even get him to knock $50 off if you mention this add...
