OMG! While researching my Appel frame and its builder, Mike Appel, I found this vintage Trek site. Appel used to weld for Trek when Trek made lugged steel frames.

I received an aluminum Trek as a college graduation present.
It was an extremely well made bicycle and I rode it for 14 years before getting a Serotta. I still feel warm and fuzzy when I think about that Trek and the great riding we did together.
The Trek was a tremendous value for the price paid.
