I'm annoyed that most manufacturers only offer long cranks in their top end groups. Does anyone know of an aftermarket company that makes long crank arms under $200? I'm running 10 speed Campy.

Thanks all.

If you do a little searching you can still find 177.5 Record cranks from 2006 (alloy) for <$200.

Try ebay or totalcycling.

DaVinci makes some really nice cranks for 220. Handy bolt design allows you to run a very nice variety of ring set ups (I think you can do standard double, compact, or triple with the same cranks).

+1 on DaVinci. Zinn makes some nice ones also, but those are pricey.

You can try Total Cycling in the UK. They show the square taper Campy Record cranks in stock on their site in 177.5, and it'll let you order them. I waited over a month and they later told me they didn't actually have any more in stock before finally cancelling my order. If you go this route, recomend you email or call them to see if they have any first (and maybe recomend they remove them from their site if they don't).

Although I know what you mean by saying Rival is not "aftermarket," since they're not from a tiny manufacturer, but buying a Rival crank alone, or Shimano for that matter, is certainly an aftermarket purchase. Making 180s is primarily a product for the aftermarket, since the customers for cranks (maybe saying "OEMs" helps) most often don't buy 180s in profitable quantities. Fit, in many cases, doesn't "sell" so much for component manufacturers it seems.

RadPlan Delta in Germany has the Sugino Longo in 180mm for 150 euro inc tax.

TA has longer cranks. You might find some Stronglight cranks out there too.

Check with Peter White Cycles in NH, too. He has had some long TA cranks in the past.
