I've been running conti 25's on my CDA, and it looks like it could take a 27 at both the F3 fork and carbon rear. Has anyone tried a tire larger than 25? I'm thinking of the Michelin 25, Grand Bois 26 or Challenge 27.

Keep in mind that the Grand Bois 26mm's measure out at about 25mm, the Challenge 27's are more like 29mm in real life, mounted on DT Swiss RR 1.1's. Grand Bois 28's are pretty close to 28mm when mounted.

Is there a general rule of thumb for determining the largest tire size one could put on a bike?

Agreed there is lots of clearance for 25c with the carbon stays. My limit is my ouzo fork . I have a pair of Grand bois that I run on my cross bike I will try on my NOVE and let you know.

pro race 2 25's and the Krylion 25's fit fine they measure at 27mm or so on an open pro rim...the pro race 3 25's should fit as well since they reportedly smaller by a mm or so.
