something silver and decent price to match... dia compe?s.
Most importabtly, should have decent braking when matched with ergo shifters.

Sounds a bit odd but shimano R550 cantilevers work very well. You could of course live on the wild side and use Paul's or IRD cantilevers.
Or the Tektro CR720's in silver. Not a polished silver, but still silver.

+1 on the R550s.
They aren't fancy, but the finish is good and he braking is pretty strong. They also use threaded v-brake pads with removable inserts so setup is a breeze and pad choice is wide.

If you can find a pair, the old Shimano Deore BR-MC70 canti's work great with Campy ergos.

I've got the Cane Creek models set up on my commuter with Campy Veloce ergos... work very well together.
But I don't know if they come in silver...

Those Tektro CR720 ARE available in polished silver, according to Universal Cycles. Will see soon, as I just ordered a pair for a Crosshairs.
Stick out a bit too the side, but those long lever arms provide great feel. Do not shorten the straddle wire too much though.
