Cunego has to be the favorite, but I'll take a flyer on Gilbert.

I agree with Cunego as well, but I'll take Sanchez. Hope he still has legs.

A blood doped ITA probably - did I say that? I'm shocked.

Punchy climb after punchy climb does not feel like Cancellara territory to me. A hilly one-day classics rider with good luck and a good team seems the sensible bet. Cunego seems more likely to go away and get away than Valverde, who wins classics by staying with a group to the end and then winning the sprint. But it could be one of those races where a group of two or three non favorites gets 20 seconds because the leaders don't think they're worth chasing and then somebody's extra form keeps him away by a few seconds at the end. That's why "other" is an appealing choice in the poll.

It will be a classic Italian 'team' carve up, just like the women.

I would not be surprised to see each Spanish potential winner assigned to an Italian potential winner and told to follow wheels. Valverde sat on Bettini's wheel, was it last year?, and so missed the real action up front. This time it could be Cunego. It must be so difficult to win when everybody assumes you're the favorite on a non-sprinter's course. That's one reason Ballan won last year - much easier for Italy to win than Cunego. Maybe easier for Sanchez than Valverde.
