Any Mac users use the Garmin Edge 305? If so, what software do you use for training tracking and for import and export of maps/routes etc...?

For downloading my ride data and looking at the results, I use Ascent (here (http://www.montebellosoftware.com/)), because it is much nicer than the software from Garmin. It uses much better maps and the graphing functions are much more feature rich, not to mention much nicer looking.

Unfortunately, it does not support loading routes from mapmyride, etc... onto the Garmin device. For that, I use the supplied Garmin software.

+1 for Ascent (www.montebellosoftware.com) - great software. So much better than the Garmin software.

Ascent is the ticket.

Check Velonews.com, there was a review of training software recently, including mac platform.

Garmin Training Center (download here (http://www8.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=3339) if you don't have it) can import tcx files created by mapmyride or bikeroutetoaster. Just select import from the menu.

Then, to get the route onto your Garmin 305, select the route you want, then select Send to Device from the Device menu.
