oval spokes

I have been doing a bit of reading about lacing wheels with oval spokes. However, have never seen oval spokes. Do they resemble the look of the bladed spokes on Ksyriums? How do they perform? Any downside to using them?

I have plenty of wheels with oval spokes, thery are closer to round spokes that have been slightly flattened, leaving a wing shape to the spoke. Mavic's Ksyrium spokes are flat as are bladed spokes. Dave Thomas form Speed Dream built my wheels, they are fast, light and comfortable...check him out!
