Well, HERE'S something I've never seen before in cycling! WebCor firing David Clinger because Clinger got a full face tattoo!

Here's the story on VeloNews . . .

http://www.velonews.com/news/fea/7520.0.html

I'm not sure which is more entertaining and/or ridiculous--their firing him or his not giving this just a TINY bit of thought before he did it!

This guy is kind of a nut. He's never been in Polynesian culture and has only seen documentaries. Goes and does something like this and then has to turn around and get it off. He's been doing too much of one thing or another and just not thinking straight. Being a good rider is one thing but having your head screwed on right is another. Oh well, to each his own.

Maybe if he had gotten a tattoo of the sponsor's logo it would have been different.

. . . this doesn't give Sandy and Kevan any ideas for Owner's Weekend . . .

I'm going to tattoo a large S on Kevan's head. He will have to explain what the S is for- Sandy or Serotta or Superman or.......

Nothing to be afraid of. I will hit you with a large hammer before I begin. :)

tattoos are cool- lets all get one together- what should we get? I have already got my left shoulder and left hip "covered" so we need to pick another spot- oh yeah- not the right shoulder- I already have something picked out for that one too- how about the back- anybody up for a back tat?

You best pick a location low, like down near the bottom of the foot. If Sandy were to get a tattoo, you can pretty much be guaranteed that it will start sagging in that direction. Think of if it as... the less distance traveled. :D

I worked with a punk rock kid once that had his head tatooed during a drunken spree. His head was shaven and the idea was to create a tatoo that looked like his skull was peeled open to show his brain. The problem was that the end result looked a great deal like a big slice of pepperoni pizza. He know keeps his hair long.

Oops. He NOW keeps his hair long.

Webcor is making a big mistake. If he raced with that tatoo, he and the sponsors' logos would be in more photos than any other domestic pro.

Specialized has already voiced their non-concern over it, and I'll bet the majority of the other sponsors wouldn't care either. Take a little risk, Webcor!

Reminds me of my old job- management had no balls, and business suffered.

. . . how stupid Clinger is or how uptight WebCor is! This is from VeloNews.com . . .

BTW . . . Given Clinger's hairdo, this gives me some really intriguing ideas for Owner's Weekend. Zebra stripes, perhaps? ;)

into thinking he was wearing some sorta new helmet or other when he's not.

Dave, got any of those "What was I thinking???" stickers left? He'll be wanting one soon.

does anybody think this:

http://www.ford-basiscycling.com/shrub.html

is akin to another website on which "questionable
communicative skills" were the order of the day.

we team basis and its sponsors get the same
public hanging that matt d did?

I think Nicole may have edged over the line!

Wonder what Hank Ford III and friends think of this?

Why not tell everyone about your tattoos?

On your chest- a tattoo of your Calfee with "Calfees Are Great"
On your back- a larger tattoo of Sandy with "Sandy is Better"

It just gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling inside.

That's not that bad. By the time he has a helmet and shades on, it would just look like he hadn't shaved for awhile, at least from 15 to 20 feet away. I've seen worse, and his motives sound good.

Thanks Sandy! And yes, he's certainly no Lizard Man...
