I bought a used pair of SIDI genius 5s from a forumite here and (sorry if I look like a dolt asking this), it seems like I can't use those for good old Shimano SPD-R cleats. Something online made it look like I could (some retailer's info), but the manual doesn't say a thing about it, just has installation for all the big ones. It these here:

A word of advice from anyone?

Unfortunate to hear the shoes don't fit your needs.
Sidi shoes are the gift that keep on giving.

I'm not positive that they don't, I'm hoping for an informed answer here! I reckon I can get what I paid for them if I just throw them back on the forum either way, but I'd sure like to use them, I wore them around for a couple of hours today whilst sitting at work and they felt pretty nice, comfy and light!

Tell me something!

They'll definitely work.

First, I would call/visit your LBS and see if the SPD-Rs can be mounted by only using different screws.

If not, you'll need these SIDI SPD-R adapter plates (http://bicyclesource.us/product/sidi-spd-r-adapters-24636-1.htm).

Hey all,

Happy follow up. One forumite kindly PM'ed me and advised me to pop the adjacent red strip out to find another set of recessed threads for SPD-R compatibility. I thought it looked like that might be the case, but was surprised to find no mention of them in the little manual. They are indeed there and all is well. Just wanted someone to tell me before I took a chance on damaging anything.

Thanks everyone!
