So this "Real American bike shop" ordered one from Performance and now they are flipping it?

Capitalism at work!

Completely different wheel- this is a rear wheel at an unbelievable price!

It'd be better if it wasn't 7800 and only DA10 compatible

Rocky Mountain is a good shop - they build their own wheels (my experience) and sell at a good price. They also support eccentrics like 29ers and touring bikes. Thumbs up.

Are we going to repost every DA/Open Pro wheel listed on ebay now? At least this one isn't in the classifieds, but still.

well, i guess this provides the back wheel to anyone who took advantage of the performance deal and actually needed a wheelset.

THis is a good deal, but why would you think it is a scam or rip-off? It's just a prior model (7800 vs 7900) hub with a quality mid range rim and pedestrian spokes and no skewer. Good training or cross wheel.

I wish this was 8/9/10 instead of 10 only. I would buy it to go with my scam wheel.

Nice deal...I'm stuck in the 9-speed world, though....

Before other posters vouched for the seller, I was going to suggest that maybe these guys pilfered a bunch of rear wheels, leaving Performance with a bunch of lonely fronts that they blew out during last week's sale. ;)

Me too, but I've been tempted by Competitive Cyclist's $220 7800 STIs.

I've bought from this outfit a couple times and have been very pleased.

Nobody wants 7800 hubs, nor straight gauge spokes so I the price is likely about what the market will take. Not that it's a bad wheel, if you're interested in running D-A cassettes and don't mind the spokes...

Remember, it's a good deal--but uses the DA 7800, not the newer 7850 hub.
The 7800 will ONLY fit Shimano 10 speed cassettes; the 7850 has the older spline pattern which will fit every non-Campagnolo 8, 9, or 10 speed cassette under the sun.

If I'm not mistaken, it's even worse than you describe - you can only use Dura Ace 10spd cassettes.
